Posting through MS Word 2007

by Amrit Hallan on June 5, 2007

Just got the 60-day evaluation CD of Office 2007 from Digit. I installed just MS Word to checkout its blog-posting features. Someone on another blog was raving about it. Currently I use Windows Live Writer. It’s quite a cool tool but there are some features either lacking or not working properly in it; for instance, when I include the trackback links, in the Trackbacks field of the WordPress control panel I only see a word “Array” and no trackback link. So every time I need to use a trackback, I have to manually go there and put the link. Apart from that I think I have no problem with Windows Live Writer and if this problem is solved it is the best blog editor available, and that too, free.

So far, the blogging feature of MS Word 2007 seems quite basic. I cannot edit the source: I often edit the source to manually insert the Technorati tags. And there is no option to add, again, the trackback links. I think I’ll stick to Windows Live Writer for a while.
