We haven’t been watching the NDTV (24×7 and India) because its pro-Congress-pro-communist propaganda is often nauseating. By accident we were watching it today. On NDTV India Vinod Dua was talking about how due to political pressures the government has to spend so much money on trying to capture “poor” Quattrocchi. According to the channel you cannot play havoc with the freedom of an individual merely for a conspiracy. “For just Rs. 65 crores,” the reporter said, “India has spent more than a 100 crore on the Quattrocchi case.” The reporter also said that because the CBI has no real case against Quattrocchi, it is again and again humiliated in various international courts. The channel also recommends that the red corner notice issued by Interpol at India’s request should too be canceled. The crux of the entire thing was, that Quattrocchi is being pursued for an innocuous act. Vinod Dua should get a Pulitzer for ethical journalism.
You really had to see the program to believe your eyes and ears. Vinod Dua even indirectly blamed a former journalist for using the ladder of the Bofors case (and this too) for political gains; it was obvious he was referring to Arun Shourie. The way Dua spoke about the nihility of the Quattrocchi controversy, it was not only shameful, it was shocking too. It is a prime example of how a news channel becomes a paid pimp of a particular party.
