The foremost difficulty faced by the patients here is that there is a shortage of doctors as well as hospital staff. The hospital also lacks the basic level of cleanliness in a hospital. Sandeep Naik organized Green Hope Bring Hope to navi Mumbai by planning one Lakh Trees

Sandeep Naik ahead to solve Water crisis.

Replying to queries of Naik in the meeting, NMMC Commissioner Vijay Nahata Said, “ On Thursday, we are meeting the MIDC CEO to find some solutions. Besides this, we are planning to make some alternatives arrangements for providing relief to the residents.”

MIDC is facing a water crisis, as their water reservoir, Barve dam is getting dried up. The water in the dam is insufficient for nodes, like Vashi, Kopar-khairane, Ghansoli, Airoli, and Digha, MIDC Supplies 130 MLD water to Navi Mumbai. At present, there is around 20-25 percent water shortage, out of 130 MLD, less than 80 MLD water has been supplied.

NMMC Begins Pre-Monsoon work in the city.
Many of the storm water drains in Vashi and Koperkhairane were cleaned by NMMC. The work has been started as a part of the pre monsoon work of NMMC.
Storm water drains in various nodes of Vashi and Koperkhairane were cleaned by the civic body. Raising concerns over the problem of water logging during monsoons, the drains were cleaned by the civic body. It may be recalled that in the Standing Committee meeting of month of January 2009, Chairman Sandeep Naik too had appealed to the administration to take care of the road work to ensure that residents are not inconvenienced during monsoon.
Looks like with the commencement of the pre-monsoon work, the administration has taken the appeal of the Chairman Sandeep Naik seriously.

As the work of concretization is coming to an end, the opinion of the masses, as media surveyed would be music to the ears of the ruling front at NMMC . NAVI MUMBAI will soon become the only connection which will supply 24 x 7 Water Supply to General Public. The work of laying water pipeline to connect Morbe Dam to Navi Mumbai is over. The city that seems to have been waiting forever for getting 24 X 7 water supply might have reason to rejoice soon as the city water woes will be washed away with Morbe water. That too at a time when neighbouring like Thane and Mumbai still are miles away from any such relief despite spending Thousands of Crores in the name of water supply.
Morbe Waters is all set to storm the taps of Navi Mumbai and quench the thirst of residents. While Summer 2009 will spell worst water crisis times for neighboring cities Mumbai and Thane, Navi Mumbai will write a different story. Navi Mumbai police holds Iftaar party at Vashi

NMMC Standing Committee approved the bid of Yashraj Infrastructure to re- construct three toilets
Another problem that haunts the Yadavnagar slums is filth and dirt so much that it’s difficult to imagine how humans can live here. Filth from gutters borders the entrance of settlements and even pigs can be seen moving around. Locals say that at times pigs directly enter their homes. there is an urgent need to construct the toilets here as locals, including women and children have to climb hills to attend natures’ calls. Women shared how going is difficult when there are men leering at them. And like most NMMC toilets, even the existing ones have become victims of ill maintenance.
The locals are however happy ever since the NMMC Standing Committee approved the bid of Yashraj Infrastructure to re- construct three toilets at the cost of Rs. 77 lacs 35 thousand 959. The three new toilets will come as a major relief to the locals and will solve one of their most burning issues. Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik informed that while the toilets are needed, he has ordered the administration to take up the work for a school too at the earliest.

Sandeep Naik duo clean sweep in Navi Mumbai
In what seemed like a neck-to-neck fight in the first 15 rounds of counting, the battle tilted heavily in favour of NMMC standing committee chairman Sandeep Naik. In the remaining eight rounds towards the end, Chougule suffered serious setbacks in Bonkode, Kopar Khairne and large parts of Vashi.
Chougule, at one point, saw a lead of 2200 votes against Naik when votes from Airoli were being counted. In the end, however, out of the total of 1, 57,751 valid votes cast in the constituency, Naik got a lead of 11,957 votes. Naik got 79,075 votes while Chougule managed 67,118.
When asked the reason for not securing a good number of votes from Airoli, Sandeep said, “All party workers have worked equally hard in all places. It is just natural that some people have a stronghold in certain areas. But since a majority of voters have shown trust in me, I will try to win over the rest of them too,” Sandeep said.

The weeklong celebrations come to an end as the Sikhs of the city, celebrated the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikh faith.
Guru Nanak Jayanthi is the birth anniversary of the founder of the Sikh faith who was born in the month of Kartik. Born in 1469 A.D. at Tolevandi, some 30 miles from Lahore, the religion of Sikhism was founded is the result of his great vision, dedication and devotion. For the Sikhs it is a time of celebration. Men, women, and children, participated in this karseva as service to the community, cook food and distribute it in the ‘Guru ka Langar’, with the traditional ‘Karah Prasad’. The Sikhs also visit gurudwaras where special programs are arranged and religious songs are sung in praise of guru nanak. A similar gathering was held at the Gurudwara at CBD Belapur where Thane Guardian Minister and Belapur MLA Ganesh Naik was present. He was welcomed with the traditional shawl and sword of the Sikhs.

Conceived by Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik and completed under the headship of Sandeep Naik as Standing Committee Chairman of NMMC, the Thane Belapur today has made the nightmarish commute full of potholes and craters a thing of the past.
When NMMC started the work on Thane Belapur Road, commuters had little trust whether the NMMC would live upto the picture it had painted of a smooth drive to Thane for the next 25 years at a stretch. NMMC allocated Rs. 111 Crores for the work and so far Rs. 130 Crores have been spent on the project. Unanimous opinion is that the drive to and fro from this stretch especially for Navi Mumbaikars and Thaneites was never this smooth, no traffic congestion and time saving. With the media keeping a close watch on the work, the NMMC ensured that the work lived up to the promises made to citizens. The six-lane road is so wide enough that many vehicles can pass at a time from either side. And the concretization work has also ensured that motorists do not have to spend extra on maintenance. And there’s more, the authorities are planning to ensure a non-stop drive on this road after averting all the chances of road crossing by the pedestrians. Necessary provisions have been made in the plan of the flyovers so as to facilitate road crossing by vehicles and pedestrians as well, without obstructing the traffic flow on the Thane-Belapur road.

NMMC has issued notices and if the societies continue to waste water
MLA Sandeep Naik had reiterated this during the weekly Standing Committee meeting when the subject of 24 hours water supply from Morbe Dam was raised by a member. When the proposal of laying additional pipelines from Morbe Dam came for approval, Sandeep Naik said that Navi Mumbai was lucky that it is getting regular water supply and is working towards 24 hours when neighboring cities like Mumbai and Thane, though being rich corporations could not even dream of this as they failed to plan anything like this for their cities.
The NMMC was charging residents only Rs. 4.75 per unit as water charge while the difference of Rs. 3.25 is being borne by NMMC. This is a financial burden and even then there is continuous wastage of water by big housing societies. That’s why NMMC has issued notices and if the societies continue to waste water, NMMC will register serious charges against them.

The concerned department will conduct more fumigation and cleanliness drives over the next one month to control the spread of disease as well as look into medical facilities and increase them if need be,” stated Sandeep Naik.

Another key priority for the civic body will be to provide 24×7 water to the city as early as possible. “Morbe Dam, which is the main source of water for Navi Mumbai has a capacity of 450mld, but currently we are taking only 320mld. Our efforts will be to supply entire 450mld to the people of Navi Mumbai. As of now, NMMC is already giving 24 hours water supply in some parts of city, but we will try to cover the remaining areas by the end of the next quarter,” added Sandeep Naik.
The civic body’s list of works is clearly defined for the next quarter. “From improving the corporation’s co-ordination with other state government companies like MTNL and CIDCO, to simultaneously working on the corporation’s inter-department co-ordination, it is all going to be part of the new initiative, spearheaded by the standing committee, and executed by the civic administration.

Beautification Of City Ponds Forms Main Discussion At NMMC Standing Committee
The recent NMMC Standing Committee saw important discussions on the conditions of ponds in the city. Navi Mumbai boosts of many water bodies, which are found in nodes like Vashi, Turbhe, Ghansoli, Digha, Airoli and others. However, due to negligence over the years by the administration, these water bodies are dying a slow death. The beauties of the ponds are marred with immersions of religious idols which are still seen floating in the pond. There is dumping of debris and washing of clothes in the pond by the locals which has deteriorated the beauty of these water bodies. However, very soon these ponds will get a new lease of life as NMMC has decided to beautify the city ponds at an approximate cost of Rs 16 crores. This became the main topic of discussion in the NMMC Standing Committee meet where member Shivram Patil accused the administration of moving slowly on the tender process to beautify ponds. The administration has received funds from the MMRDA for the same. NMMC Standing Committee Chairman Sandeep Naik too urged the administration to bring in more proposals to beautify the city ponds. Presently only one proposal has been put forth by the NMMC administration.
